Light Up Lewes!

On the 6th May 2020, under lockdown conditions, Fireraisers brought Lewesians together, whilst apart, to light up their homes and join their voices to sing Sussex by the Sea. We celebrated the resilience of our town during an extraordinary chapter in our history. Huge thanks to the team, to Farnham Maltings, for supporting us and most of all, the people of Lewes.

Fireraisers is an innovative female-led performance company, committed to discovering new audiences through accessible and exciting productions. The Sussex-based company perform nationally by making imaginative use of new technologies. allied to strong new writing to create unique and memorable work. In addition to co-productions with conventional theatre venues such as Soho Theatre and Birmingham Rep, the company’s mission is to present work in startling and unusual locations. These have included: Selfridges Window on Oxford Street; a nightclub where they recreated the battle of Waterloo; and a performance of The Tempest on Brighton beach on an oilrig attracted a record audience of 40,000 in one night.
